What a weekend
Last weekend we had the first show of the year here in Iceland, The Northern Lights Show, and what a great start of the show year for Team Vikur :)
Breed and BIS Veteran judge was Attila Czeglédi, Hungary, group judge was Kitty Sjong, Denmark, and breeders group judge was Carl Gunnar Stafberg, Sweden. Thanks to the judges for appreciating our precious babies and giving them all so beautiful critique :)
Blue and Vaka did great in their first competition together in junior handling on Friday. They did super well together and were in 2nd place. Junior handling judge was Daníel Örn Hinriksson.
Big thanks to all our handlers, owners and breeders abroad. This would not have been done without all of you and your help. Love you all and thank you for a great weekend <3

- Víkur breeders groups with Marley, Polar and Smári was BOB breeders group and 3rd best breeders group of the day with honorary price.

Happy Birthday Melody
Today our precious Melody celebrates her first birthday as she is 1 year old today. It was such a joyful moment when her breeder Alyson Ferriére told us 10 months ago that she would be ours and we will always be thankful to her for that.
She is such a great girl always so happy with a smile on her face and makes every day a better day with her smile and positivity. As said before she is bred by Alyson Ferriére in France but stayed with our friends in Germany from June to September when she became 7 months old and could come to Iceland and go into quarantine and in October we finally had her home with us.
We are so thankful to you, dear Alyson, for trusting us with this precious little girl. She will get a lot of extra hugs and kisses today and some extra treats with her dinner tonight. Happy Birthday dear Melody, we love you <3

Víkur Icelandic All My Loving "Loke" that moved to his new home in Norway last October took part in his first show there today and you could say that it went really well.
He became Best of Breed puppy with honorary prize, was Best in Group 1 puppy and took part in best in show puppy. Great results for him at his very first show abroad with his new owner, Elin Haugstad. Today's judge was Nina Karlsdotter, Sweden, and she gave him this beautiful critic. "Well shaped head. Good proportion. Excellent ears. Excellent neck and toppling. Well developed. Nice feed. Good movement. Much coat with good quality. Well presented." We are over the moon with these great results from todays show and our kennel's first steps in the show ring abroad. Huge congrats to his owner ❤❤ |
C.I.B confirmation for Marley

Some days are simply better than others. Yesterday we got Marley's International Champion title, C.I.B, confirmation in the mail. So now he is C.I.B ISCh Víkur Bob Marley :)
He our first bred International Champion and he is also the first Aussie male bred in Iceland to celebrate this title. His mother is our beauty queen ISVetCh ISCh RW-14 Thornapple Seduction and his father is Heimsenda Ösku Íllur. Marley is from our first born litter and became 5 years old on February 2nd. He got his last CACIB on our summer show in July so receiving the confirmation by mail this week was a really good birthday gift for him. Marley has had really good show results here in Iceland he has taken part in 21 show and in 16 of them he has been placed in top 4 males and got 19 CK's, Crufts qualification, group 2 placement and Junior Best in Show at our Herding Club. We could not be prouder breeders and co-owners of this precious boy which is co-owned with our dear friend and handler Theodóra <3 |
Happy Birthday Misty
Our little princess is 3 years old today. Can't believe we have almost three years since her breeder Marko Ljutic (Mangry's Australian Shepherds) told us that she would be a part of our family. She has for sure made every day a better day with her smile and positivity.
She is born with Marko in Croatia but stayed for few months in Belgium by our dear friends Ine Vanseer and her mother Nadine Vannylen. We are so thankful to Marko for trusting us with this precious little girl and to Ine and Nadine for taking such a good care of her while she was staying with them.

5 year old Stars
Today our first litter celebrates their 5 year old birthday. It is true but unbelievable that we have 5 years since 8 healty puppies were born on 02.02.2012.
They all make us proud of them every day. They all have the best family's which will without doubt spoil them today as other days. Dear Kobbi, Johnny, Fróði, Zeta, Marley, Salma and Angara. Happy Birthday to all of you and we know that you will have a great birthday with your families. 9 year old king

He loves to cuddle with his teddy bears and needs at least two when he goes to sleep in the evening. Food is one of his passions and a good bite of meat is something he never says no to. Better father and grandfather is hard to find as he is a great exemplary for his offspring and family at home. He is good with children and is always ready to cuddle with a friend.
He will be treated as the king he is today as every day. Happy Birthday our precious Chase, we love you to the moon and back and thank you Ellen and Amy for trusting us with this precious boy of ours <3

2016 A great show year
In the beginning of a new year it is good to look back at our last show year. The last show of 2016 here in Iceland was in the middle of November. Looking at the past show year we have many great memories and victories coming to our mind and this year will late be topped in coming show years. We had Best of Breed at 4 of 5 shows and Best Veteran of Breed at all 5 shows. Dogs own or bred by us gained 8 new titles last year, 3 x C.I.B., 2 x ISCh, 2 x ISVetCh and 1 x RW-16.
Chase was in great show condition the whole year and that brought him 3 Best of Breeds and 2 Best Veteran of Breed. He became Best in Show Veteran in September, was once 4th Best in Show Veteran, was once Best in Group 4 and once Best in Group 1. Top Australian Shepherd 2016

Tonight the king of the house, "C.I.B. (pending) ISCh USCh ISVetCh Thornapple Good To Go" was awarded as Top Australian Shepherd 2016 here in Iceland. We could not be prouder of our almost 9 years old king.
This show year has been Chase's best since he came here in 2012. He was BOB at 3 last shows, was once Best In Group 4, was once Best in Group 1, twice BOB Veteran, twice BOS veteran, once Best in Show Veteran 4 and once Best in Show Veteran 1. He finished his veteran champion title, ISVetCh, this year and was the first Aussie to become ISVetCh. He got Crufts 2017 qualification and got his 4th Cacib in November and therefore we are waiting for his international title, C.I.B., confirmation. Chase as Reese has had a good show career since he came here in 2012. He has taken part in 20 shows since he came and at 17 of them he has been placed in top 4 best male. He is placed 2nd over all dogs at our Herding Club and is placed 14 – 15 all breeds of over a hundred dogs at our Kennel Club. He is also ranked 2nd top veteran 2016 at our Herding Club and 4th at our Kennel Club. Either him or Reese were BOB veteran at all shows this year and were always placed among top 4 in best in show veteran. Our dearest Theodóra thank you for always showing our king to perfection and Amy and Ellen at Thornapple we will never be able to thank you enough for trusting us with this one of a kind king. Top Veteran 2016 at our Herding Club

Tonight the queen of the house was awarded as „Top Veteran 2016“ all breeds in our Herding Club. We are extremely proud of our 9 year old queen „ISCh ISVetCh RW-14 Thornapple Seduction“ and her great job as a veteran this year. She is also ranked 3rd on the all breeds list.
She took part in four shows out of five this year and was BOB veteran in three of them and BOS veteran in one, was once 3rd best in show veteran, twice 4th best in show veteran and once best female and BOS. She added a title to her name when she finished her veteran champion, ISVetCh, title in November. Since she came to us in 2011 she has had a really good show career. She has taken part in 19 shows at our kennel club and at 17 of them she has been placed in one of the top 4 places in best female. Also she has had progeny group at few shows and they always became BOB progeny group. Our dearest Theodóra thank you for always showing our queen to perfection and Amy and Ellen at Thornapple we will never be able to thank you enough for trusting us with this one of a kind beauty queen. Last weekend we had the last show of the year here in Iceland and what a show for us, 4 new titles :)
Our king ISCh USCh ISVetCh Thornapple Good To Go had his 3rd BOB in a row today, became BIG1 and got his 4th CACIB and therefore finished his International Champion Title, CIB. The queen of the house ISCh RW-14 Thornapple Seduction was BOS, BOB veteran, Best In Show Veteran 4 and finished her veteran champion title, ISVetCH. Their daughter ISCh Víkur American Beauty was 2nd best female with her 4th CACIB and finished her International Champion title, CIB, like her daddy. This is Izzy‘s first show in 9 months as she was in a maternity leave after having puppies in May. Their son Víkur Harry Potter HIT was 2nd best male, with his 3rd CC and therefore became Icelandic Champion, ISCh. Bleuroyal Back To Business was 2nd in open class and 4th best male. CIB ISCh Víkur Bob Marley was 3rd in champion class and 5th best male. Víkur Breeders group with Izzy, Smári and Marley was BOB breeders group with HP. Izzy‘s 5 months old puppies did also well at the show. Víkur I Saw Her Standing There did great in baby class as she was BOB baby and Best In Show 4 baby. Vikur I Got To Get You Into My Life was BOS baby with honorary prize. Vikur Twist And Shout was 2nd best femaly baby also with honorary prize like her siblings. Our newest family memeber Melody Time De La Vallée d'Eska did well at her first show here in Iceland as she became 2nd best female puppy with honorary prize and a beautiful critique. Puppy, breed and group judge was George Schogol, Georgia, and best in show veteran judge was Rafael Malo Alcrudo, Spain. Izzy (ISCh Víkur American Beauty) went to junior handling with her friend Vaka and they were in 4th place. Judge was Svante Frisk, Sweden. We are over the moon with all our precious gems, their handlers and owners that for sure made the day for us. Love you all <3 |
Best In Show Veteran for Chase

The king of the house is for sure the king. Last weekend we had an International show here in Iceland and at the show he became Best In Show Veteran as well as Best of Breed and this is the second show in a row that he becomes BOB and is placed in BISV.
He did really good in the breed judgement on Saturday when he won a strong class of males and became Best of Breed as well as Best of Breed Veteran with his 3rd veteran CC and became Veteran Champion (ISVCh) as well as earning Crufts 2017 qualification. Then he went to group 1 finals and was placed 4th there. After the group finals we went back home to relax for the best in show veteran finals the day after. In the finals the day after he showed his ass off and showed that he is in his best condition ever at the age of 8 1/2 years old and became Best In Show Veteran, well done Chase and Theodóra :) The judges at the show were all from Ireland. Breed judge was Sean Delmar, group 1 judge was Cathy Delmar and Best In Show Veteran judge was John Muldoon. Thank you all for appreciating our precious boy. Big thanks to Amy and Ellen at Thornapple for breeding this gem of ours and trusting us with him. Our precious Theodora also gets big thanks for handling him to perfection as always and big thanks to all of you that have always been there for us and with us. The Birthday Queen

International Show July 2016

Our king of the house ISCh USCh Thornapple Good To Go rocked on Sunday when he became BOB and BOB veteran and then even did better when he became BIS4 veteran with excellent and his second veteran champion point. 8 years old and still got it all <3
ISCh Víkur Bob Marley won champion class and was 2nd best male, with excellent, CK and his 4th CACIB which means that he finished his C.I.B title and is therefor the first Víkur dog to become CIB and is also the first Aussie male bred in Iceland to become CIB. We are so proud of this precious boy of ours :) Víkur Harry Potter won open class and was 4th best male with excellent and CK. ISCh USCh RW-16 Thornapple don‘t tread on me did good job with his mom for the first time in the ring and they got 4th in champion class with excellent. We were able to take Thornapple breeders group in the ring for the first time at this show since we have 3 gems from them and so we did. They got BOB with honorary price. Breed jugde was Åke Cronander, Sweden, group and BIS veteran judge was Ramune Kazlauskaite, Lithuania and breeders group judge was Andrzej Kazmierski, Poland. On July 23rd we had Reykjavík Winner 2016 where our new boy USCh Thornapple Don‘t Tread On Me did a super good job at his first show when he won champion class, was best male and Best Of Breed with excellent and CC. He gained two new titles on Saturday ISCh (Icelandic Champion) and RW-16 (Reykjavík Winner 2016). Our king og the house ISCh USCh Thornapple Good to Go was BOS veteran with excellent and his first veteran champion point. ISCh Víkur Bob Marley was 2nd in champion class and 3rd best male with excellent and CK. Víkur Harry Botter was 2nd in open class and 4th best male with excellent and CK. The queen of the house ISCh RW-14 Thornapple Seduction was 2nd best female and BOB veteran and in the big ring she ended up as BIS4 veteran with excellent and her first veteran champion point. Our queen will be 9 years old in few days and does not look older than 4 <3 Breed judge was Lilja Dóra Halldórsdóttir, group judge was Åke Cronander, Sweden, and BIS veteran judge was Andrzej Kazmierski, Poland. |
We are expecting

We are expecting puppies in May. The parents are our IsCh Víkur American Beauty "Izzy" and the beutiful IrCh HunCh CIB Allmark Muffin Muncher "Tinker" from Ireland. He has been visiting Iceland for a short time and we were so lucky to be able to mate him with Izzy.
They both have had their eyes checked and they are clear and Izzy's hips are A2 and Tinker's A. We are really excited for this mating and can´t wait to see their precious babies. You can see their pedigree and more pictures here. |
Love at first sight

It was love at first sight when Maríanna and Theodóra met our Gadsden at Amy's house in Fowlerville, Michigan, on Saturday. He is so lovable with excellent temperament and he will for sure be a great addition to our family.
We flew to Chicago on Friday and drove from there to Michigan, which is about 5 hours drive. We had a great weekend with Amy, Ellen, Shayna and Vikki. On Monday morning we went back to Chicago and flew back to Iceland on Monday evening. We arrived safely early on Tuesday morning in Iceland and now Gadsden is in quarantine for the next month where he we be well taken care of by Jón and his family. In the beginning of May we will be reunited. It was great finally being able to go and visit Amy and Ellen and to meet all their precious babies and we had a lot of Aussie hugs over the weekend. They have been great with us ever since we got Reese and we have always been able to turn to them for assistance if needed. It is invaluable to have such experienced breeders behind us and we will always be thankful for that. This month we will have to wait for Gadsden coming home with us will be long but worth waiting for. |
New family member

We proudly present our newest family member CH Thornapple Don't Tread On Me "Gadsden". He will arrive in Iceland in beginning of April and out of quarantine in beginning of May. We can't wait to meet this precious boy in the States and then having him at home in May.
Gadsden comes from the Thornapple kennel in the States as Reese and Chase. He has been taking part in show in the States with good results and he is a champion there. He will become 6 years this summer but he is born on the Independence day. We are so thankful to Amy and Ellen at Thornapple for trusting us with another precious dog from their breeding. |

Our precious little boy is 8 years old today. He charms everyone with his wonderful presence. He loves kids, loves his teddy bears, loves treats, loves to cuddle and is just the perfect dog for every family.
He came to us from Ellen and Amy at Thornapple Australian Shepherds almost 4 years ago and has played a big part in our lives since. When he came we had 4 weeks old litter in our house and from day one he was just like their daddy. He loves kids and loves to lay on the floor with a dear friend and cuddle. He and our Reese have 11 babies together and before he came he had two litters in USA and his babies have been doing great at shows all over the world. His father is CH Thornapple Single Barrel "Cruzan", father of many champions, and his mother is CH Thornapple Freeze Frame "Icy" and his breeders are Lisa Penton, Ellen Brandenburg and Amy Garrisson. He will get a lot of kisses and hugs today like all days and for sure he will get some extra treats with his dinner tonight. Happy Birthday Chase. We love you <3 |

We are so proud of our Bleuroyal Back To Business „Boss“ which was awarded tonight as „Top Australian Shepherd 2015“ here in Iceland. Boss is co-owned with our dear friends Herdís Hallmarsdóttir and Magnús Orri Schram and his resident is with Guðný Isaksen and her family.
Boss had a good show year this year but without doubt his best performance of the year was this summer when he was BOB, BIG1 and BIS2 where he got his 2nd CC and 1st Cacib. BIS2 is one of the best results an Aussie has had on a show here in Iceland. This great results would not have been achieved without his great handler Erna Sigríður Ómarsdóttir and we are grateful to her for her great work with him. We are so proud of our small and young breeding. The show year has ended here in Iceland and we are ranked 25 - 26 all breeds/breeders (out of 183) in Iceland and 2nd in our Herding Breeds Club.
What makes us even more pride is that we only have 2 - 4 dogs bred by us registered every show and only been able to compete with breeders group twice this year. We could not be prouder of the dogs, handlers, owners and all of you that have helped us making this possible. Thank you :) |

It's their birthday
Saturday September 5th we had 3 years since the movie litter was born. At 01:43 the first one was born and 4 hours and 20 min later Reese and Chase had 11 babies.
They all make us and their parents very proud of them every day. They all got great family's which without doubt will spoil them today as other days. Our boy Bleuroyal Back To Business "Boss" did super good at the International show in July here in Iceland with his handler Erna Sigríður Ómarsdóttir when he became BOB, BIG1 and BIS2.
Breed, BIG and BIS judge was Stefan Sinko from Slovenia and he gave him the following review. "2 years old male. Very nice head profile. Very good body proportions. Good neck & topline. Correct front & hindquarters. Presented in excellent condition. Good angulation hindquarters. Excellent mover." Boss was perfectly groomed by Sóley Halla Möller and he is co-owned with our friends Herdís Hallmarsdóttir and Magnús Orri Schram and lives with his dream family at Guðný Isaksen's hause. We could not be prouder of this precious little boy :) |

The Junior Handling Club of the Icelandic Kennel Clug had their Junior Handling Club Day here in Iceland last Sunday and of course Team Víkur had their representatives there.
Izzy and Reese were in the group for 3-5 years old handlers with their 4 year old friends and twins Emma Björk and Ásgeir Anton and Chase went with their sister the 7 year old Bríet Björk in the group for 6-8 years old handlers. They all had a great time together and the siblings showed that they are all a very promising handlers and that they are a great addition to our team and will for sure be handling some of our dogs in the future :) This was a great initiative by the Junior handling club and well organized and we will for sure take part in next junior handling day they organize :) |

The king of our house, Chase, became 7 years old on January 15th. We have almost 3 years since he came to us from the States.
We could not have been luckier when Ellen and Amy at Thornapple trusted us for him. He charms everyone he meets with his kindness and beauty. He has beautiful babies here in Iceland and all over the world that make him proud every day. He got some extra treats and hugs on his birthday and he loved it as much as he loves everything we do for him. Happy Birthday our best Chase :) |

She is the best. Tonight our RW-14 ISCh Thornapple Seduction "Reese" was awarded as Top Australian Shepherd 2014 here in Iceland.
She did great at shows this year. Became an Icelandic Champion in February among becoming 2xBOB, 1xBOS, 1xBIG2, 1xBIG3 and BOB progeny group. We could not be prouder of our 7 years old beauty queen which is a mother of 19 beautiful babies. She is always beautifully handled by Theodóra and our Karen assists her when needed. Top breeders of the year - 14th place
The Icelandic Kennel Club (HRFÍ) published this week their list of top breeders of the year 2014. We were surprised but proud to see that we are in 14th place on that list.
We only have 3 - 4 Víkur dogs registered in every show and that makes us even prouder to see our young and small breeding so high on the list which includes 166 breeders.

Great show year 2014
Now the show year has come to end here in Iceland, all five shows of the year are over and it has sure been a dream coming true for Team Víkur.
We had a great start in February when Thornapple Seduction „Reese“ finished her Icelandic Champion title, got her 2nd Cacib, was BOB and BIG3. ISCh USCh Thornapple Good To Go „Chase“ was BOS at the same show with his 3rd Cacib. Víkur Bob Marley was 3rd best male and Víkur Harry Potter „Smári“ was 4th best male. Víkur Freddy Mercury "Fróði" was third in open class with excellent. Reese had also BOB and BIS3 progeny group. Breed judge was Benny Blid Von Schedvin and progeny group judge was Francesco Cochetti from Italy.
In June we had double show, Reykjavík Winner and International show. We also did great there.

Our princess Víkur American Beauty "Izzy" finished her Icelandic Champion title, ISCh, last Saturday on the last show of the year. She won open class, was 2nd best female and got her 3rd CK and 2nd Cacib at the show and she got this beautiful critic from judge Charlotter Höier, Denmark.
"An extremely beautiful Aussie of high quality – very feminine and typical. Beautiful head & expression. Bit heavy ears. Is very nice constructed. With a beautiful neck & topline. Good forechest and well filled body. She is a fraction straight angulated in front but nothing which disturbs me. Sound bones and paws. At the moment a fraction high behind but that changes when she settles more in hind angulaton. Moves like a real worker – she could go on forever!"

Last weekend we had the last show of the year here in Iceland and we are so proud of all our beautiful babies that took part in the show. Judge was Charlotte Höier, Denmark. 40 Aussies were registered in the show.
Bleuroyal Back To Business "Boss" won Intermediate class with excellent and a great review. Víkur Harry Potter "Smári" won open class with excellent, CK and a great review. ISCh Víkur Bob Marley "Marley" was 2nd in champion class and 3rd best male with excellent and CK. ISCh USCh Thornapple Good To Go "Chase" was 3rd in champion class and 4th best male with excellent and CK. Víkur American Beauty "Izzy" won open class and was 2nd best female with excellent, CK, CACIB and super review from the judge. She is now and Icelandic Champion, ISCh only 26 months old. ISCh Thornapple Seduction "Reese" was 2nd in champion class with excellent and CK. We also took part in the breeders class, with Marley, Smári and Izzy, and our group was chosen the best breeders group in Aussie and we ended up as 2nd best breeders group in a strong competition between all breeds. The first Víkur Champion
We proudly present the first Víkur Icelandic Champion, ISCh Víkur Bob Marley. Marley is from our first litter and is born February 2nd 2012.
We are so proud of our first bred Champion. He got 5 champion points before he became 2 years old and got his 6th on the show in September and became a Champion. He was the top Australian Shepherd 2013 in Iceland. He has got three CACIB's and therefore only needs one more to become an International Champion.
Marley is owned by us and our handler and dear friend Theodóra Róbertsdóttir, big congrats to Theodóra with our Champion :)

Misty finally in Iceland

Finally Misty has arrived here in Iceland. We went to Belgium September 19th - 22nd to pick her up. She was staying there with our dear friends Ine Vanseer and her mother Nadine Vannylen. They took really good care of her and we will never be able to thank them enough for that.
Now she is in quarantine until October 23rd when she finally can come and stay at home with us. She is such a good girl with the perfect temperament, so sweet, nice and always happy. Everything goes well for her at the quarantine and they say that she is always so lovely and happy :) Ine took her to one show for us in Belgium and they did very well. She was in younger puppy class and was best puppy of breed and third best in show. Misty is born February 6th 2014 and is originally from Mangry's Kennel in Croatia and her breeding name is Mangry's Middle for Diddle. Here sire is JCH Dutch CH Northbay Vulcan No Nonsence "Nono" and her dam is BIS CH Mangry's La Bamba Mamacita "Bamba". |

Last weekend we tried out our new dog playground. We bought some new toys for our dogs last week.
First practices went very well and both dogs and people had so much fun and the dogs were very quick to learn what to do. Now we just have to find some time on the calender to have a Víkur family gathering where dogs can play and practice with the new agility equipment and the owners and family can have great time together :) |
September begins excellently
In the beginning of September we had International dog show here in Iceland. We had several representatives there and they all did great. We still are floating on a rosy cloud after the weekend.
The breed judge was the prestigious FCI judge Paolo Donda from Italy.
The first representative of our team was Bleu Royal Back To Business "Boss" at his first exhibition here in Iceland. He did really well, got a splendid review and excellent. It was Erna Sigríður that showed him for us. Then it was the brothers Víkur Bob Marley, Víkur Harry Potter and Víkur Johnny Enghlish turn. Smári and Týr were competing in open class for their first time. They all did well. Marley shown by Theodóra won the open class with excellent, ck and a ticket to the competition about the best male. Smári shown by Karen Ósk became second with excellent and Týr shown by Hilda Björk got very good. Next in the ring was ISCh USCh Thornapple Good To Go shown by Theodora and he did well won Champion class with excellent and a ticket to the competition about best male like Marley. In the competition about best male of breed our boys both did brilliantly. Marley won with his sixth CK, third Cacib, Crufts 2015 qualification and is now an Icelandic champion. Chase also performed very well and was second best male. It was Theodóra that showed Marley and the lady of the house at Brávellir, Maríanna, showed Chase and this was her first time in the ring showing a dog she is much more used to riding the horses in competition.
Now it was the ladies time and first we had Víkur American Beauty shown by Theodóra. She did very well won the open class with excellent, CK and a ticket to the competition about the best bitch. Then we had the queen of the house, ISCh Thornapple Seduction, in the ring shown by Theodóra and she did also well, second best bitch in Champion class with excellent and a continuation to the competition about the best bitch. Both mother and daughter did well in the competition about best bitch of breed. Izzy won with her first Cacib, second CK and Crufts 2015 qualification and Reese became third. Izzy was shown by Theodóra and Reese by Karen Ósk.
At that moment we could not have been happier and prouder of our breeding and all our dogs. Our little ones competing against each other about best of breed. Theodóra took her Marley to the ring and Erna Sigríður took Izzy to the ring for us. They all did great and Izzy won her brother and became BOB and Marley BOS. It´s their birthday
Can´t believe that we have 2 years today, September 5th, since these little angels were born. They are all very precious and live at great homes.
Izzy and their parents will celebrate the day by playing and running around then they will have a bath and will be groomed for show time tomorrow. But of course they will get a special meal tonight. Hugs and kisses to all of them and their owners :)

It´s her birthday
Today August 10th our Reese became 7 years old. She will get endless cuddle and kisses today as she will love that and for sure she will get steak for dinner :)
It is true but unbelievable that she has only been here in Iceland for 3 1/2 year but it is like she has always been with us. We have done so many great things together since she came and we are so thankful to Amy and Ellen at Thornapple for trusting us with this precious queen because she is for sure the start of the Aussie frenzy at our home.
Reese has brought us beautiful offspring's that all went to great homes and our family became a lot bigger by that. She is in her best form these days as shown in great show results this year. We have had three shows this year and she was twice BOB and once BOS and became BIG2 and BIG3. She became Icelandic Champion in February and has got three CACIB's.

Víkur American Beauty "Izzy" was beautifully shown by Ylfa Dögg. Ylfa is 15 years old. She is very talented and promising handler which we are so proud to have in our team. She has been training Izzy and this is their second competition together. They became in 5th - 6th place. Judge was Pernilla Lindström from Sweden. Big congrats to you Ylfa we are so proud of you :) |

Now it is confirmed our Reese is an Icelandic Champion, ISCh. She got her third and last champion point at the February show.
We are so proud of our beauty queen. She took part in shows after she came to Iceland in 2011 but took a break from shows in 2012 and had 19 puppies in two litters but is back in the ring now with great results. She took part in shows after she came to Iceland in 2011 but took a break from shows in 2012 and had 19 puppies in two litters but is back in the ring now with great results. Best friends, Chase and Bertha LívIn the beginning of April we had exercise show here in Iceland for Juniors. They had a new class for 5-8 year old Junior Handler where we had our representative.
Our Chase went with his good friend Bertha Lív and they did great. Bertha Lív becomes 5 years old later this year so she was one of the youngest competitors and with one of the biggest dogs :) This was a great enterprise by the Junior club at HRFÍ and a great opportunity for the youngest ones to practice for the future :) |
Congrats Bonny and Dominika
Last weekend there was an International Dog Show in Katowice, Poland. Chase had one representative there but his beautiful daughter Thornapple Shine On You Crazy Diamond "Bonny" took part in the show.
Bonny did great she won CWC, CACIB and BOS and she completed her Polish Champion title, well done. Judge was Patsy Hollings (GB).
Bonny just became 2 years old and her mother is Thornapple Bombay Sapphire "Sapphire".
Big congrats to her owner Dominika Antonik and her breeders Ellen Brandenburg and Amy Garrison at Thornapple Australian Shepherds :)

Thornapple Seduction "Reese" was BOB, BIG3, got her 2nd CACIB and her 3rd CC and is now an Icelandic Champion (ISCh). "V well balanced, corr. type, Ex head + topl., deep body substance, G. forechest, Ex bones, Ex back + front movem. Nice Coat. Excellent" Reese also had BOB progeny group and BIS3 progeny group. What a great day for the queen of the house. "Group with typical. The bitch has lot of her outstanding points to her own. Ex heads, G. bodies + prop. Str. bone. G. coats." Top Australian Shepherd 2013We can for sure say that we are extremely proud of our Víkur Bob Marley, who is not 2 years old yet and has gained the title top Australian Shepherd here in Iceland 2013 !!
He has 5 CC and 2 Cacibs - He is still too young for his Icelandic champion title. Marley will become 2 years old in the beginning of February. He has done it super on shows this year, once BOB, twice BOS and was best Junior of the Herding Group Club Show. Along with his show career he has been competing with his co-owner Theodóra in Junior Handling and helped her to the top, but she became top Junior Handler 2013 in Iceland, he is one of a kind! Speical thanks to our co-owner Thoedóra and to our Sóley at Dekurdýr for both being as wonderful as they are. Many thanks to everyone in our team and our supporters! |
Boss has arrived
Today we had addition to our Aussie family when Bleuroyal Back To Business "Boss" arrived in Iceland. He came all the way from Chile where Alejandra Reyes and Gaspar Toro Gellano have their breeding, Bleuroyal.
We own Boss with our dear friends Herdís Hallmarsdóttir and Magnús Orri Schram and his future home will be with them. Magnús Orri flew to Frankfurt yesterday to pick him up and brought him home today and now he has safely arrived at the quarantine in Reykjanesbær and he will be there for the next 4 weeks.
We can not wait to meet Boss in person and we are sure that we will have great time with him in the future.
We can not thank Alejandra and Gaspar enough for trusting us for this precious boy :)

New bath facilitiesIn the beginning of December our new bath facilities at our future home was ready. We still have few small things to do but Marley and Chase had their first bath of many on December 7th.
It is super good to finally have great facilities to bath and clean our dogs and I am sure that we will have great time there in the future with all our friends :) |

November show 2013On the 15th - 17th of November we had the last show of the year here in Iceland. Few of our dogs took part in it and they all did excellent.
Víkur Harry Potter "Smári" shown by Karen Ósk was best junior male, got excellent, CK and competed in best male of breed. Víkur Freddy Mercury "Fróði" shown by his owner Birna was taking part in his first show. He got excellent and was 2nd best male in intermediate class. Víkur Bob Marley "Marley" shown by Theodóra and Erna Sigríður was 1st in intermediate class, got excellent, CC, CACIB and was BOS. So now our 21 months old Marley has 5 CC and 2 CACIB. Thornapple Good To Go "Chase" shown by Theodóra won champion group, got excellent, and became 3rd best male. Thornapple Seduction "Reese" shown by Theodóra and Karen Ósk got excellent, CK, was 3rd best female in open class and was 4th best female of breed. And more of Reese but she also got honorary award for her offspring and 1st place. She had her three boys with her, 14 months old Smári and 21 months old Fróði and Marley. We are super proud of them. We could not be happier with the results and once again many thanks to all of you that made this possible :) |

Junior handler of the year 2013Theodóra took part in her last Junior handling competition here in Iceland on the November show. She took our Thornapple Seduction "Reese" to the competition and they did great 1st place for them.
By winning the competition Theodóra became the top junior handler of the year 2013 here in Iceland. Which means that she will compete at Crufts 2014 on behalf of Iceland. Perfect ending for our Theodóra on here Junior handling career. We could not be prouder of our girls, big congrats to Theodóra with er win and we can not wait to see her at Crufts :) |

Models for Frank KaneOn Monday after the show HRFÍ had arranged a lecture by judge Frank Kane about conformation and movement of dogs.
The lecture was well attended and very interesting. Our Marley and Chase were asked to be models for Frank. Marley was model at the earlier lecture which was specially for our judge students and Chase was model at the second one which was open for everyone. They also showed what a great temperament they have, Chase had to stand on the table for 1 1/2 hour and Marley for 1 hour while Frank was telling the people all about conformation and movement. They both did excellent as models as you can see on the attached pictures taken of Chase, Frank and Theodóra :) |

Great results September showLast weekend we had international dog show here in Iceland. Our dogs did excellent and we are so proud of them. Aussie jugde was Svein Helgesen from Norway.
One year old Víkur Harry Potter "Smári" was first in the ring and he did super good. Got excellent, great review and was best junior male. Handled by our Karen Ósk like before. Our Thornapple Good To Go "Chase" did also super good. Got excellent, got reserve CACIB, CK, won Champion Class and was second best male of breed. He was handled by Theodóra. 19 months old Víkur Catherine Zeta Jones "Zeta" also got excellent, CK, was second in intermediate class and got great review. She was handled by Jónína Sif. Our super mom Thornapple Seduction "Reese" did super got excellent, CK, reserve CACIB, was best female in open class and was third best female of breed. Super happy with our beauty queen. She was handled by Theodóra. Last but not least we have our 19 months old Víkur Bob Marley "Marley" which did super like the others. Got excellent, best male in intermediate class, best male of breed, got his fourth CC and his first CACIB and was BOS. Super happy with our little boy. Co owned and handled by Theodóra and co handled by Rannveig Gauja. And more of our super mom Thornapple Seduction "Reese" got honorary prize for her three offspring, 19 months old Marley and Zeta and 12 months old Smári, in Progeny competition and was fourth best in group of the day. The critic was super. "The mother has given the best of her qualities. Exc head + expr. Exc balance + size. Exc coat quality. Free effective movem. Congratulations" She was handled by Erna Sigríður in the progeny group. We are so happy with all of them and their performance at the show. Big congrats to all the owners and handlers. And big thanks to Ellen and Amy at Thornapple for making this possible and also big thanks to our friend Sóley at Dekurdýr for grooming all the dogs :) |
Happy Birthday to the Movie Litter
It´s true but unbelievable that we had one year since the Movie Litter was born on Septmeber 5th. The first one was born at 01:43 in the night and the last one was born at 06:03 in the morning. It did not take long time for our Reese to have eleven beautiful puppies.
All of them got great homes which makes us so happy. We could not be prouder of our little ones and their successes in live.

Vacation timeLast week we finally both had vacation for a week. But we have been on our way for a week out in the country for the whole summer.
We went to Öxarfjörður which is in North East of Iceland. The landscape there is so beautiful. We went for long walks with the dogs, fishing, picked berries and mushrooms, relaxed and enjoyed the beauty of nature. Attached you can see few photos of our trip but the dogs loved themselves out playing the whole day :) |
The Birthday Girl
Our Reese had birthday on the 10th of August when she became 6 years old. We had a great day with her, went for a good walk, she luxury dinner in the evening and got a lot of extra hugs over the day.
Reese came to us in February 2011 so she has been with us for 2 1/2 years and it feels like she has been with us forever. She has given us beautiful offspring which all are living at great homes. So we can say that our family has multiplied with her arrival.
She is a great character and we are very greatful to her breeders for trusting us for our beauty queen :)

Garden dog salonWe have not had so much sun here in Iceland for the summer. But last Tuesday we had a bit of sun or at least no rain :)
We used the opportunity and set up a dog salon in our garden. All the dogs got a bath, blew the coat on all of them, were groomed a bit and finally we took pictures of all of them in our green garden. The attached pictures are taken while the dogs got their bath and grooming :) |

Marley the babysitterMarley like all our dogs loves to play. Sometimes when we go babysitting for family members we are asked to take a dog with us for assistance. They all love when we do that.
Often we take Marley and in those trips we go for a walk, play with a ball, play chasing or just cuddle back home. In attached video you can see where Marley and his almost 3 years old friend, Arnór Gunnar, are playing chasing :) |

Reykjavík Winner 2013In the end of May we had Reykjavík Winner show here in Iceland. Víkur kennel had four representatives at the show and they did all well.
The show started on Friday evening with junior handling. Marley and Theodóra went there and did excellent, 2nd place for them. Víkur Johnny English "Týr" and Hilda Björk were in puppies 6 - 9 months old and did excellent, 1st place, a great review and BOS puppy 6 - 9 months old. Víkur Harry Potter "Smári" and Karen Ósk were also in puppies 6 - 9 months old and did also excellent, 2nd place and a great review. Víkur American Beauty "Izzy" and Theodóra were also in puppies 6 - 9 months old. She like the boys did excellent. 1st palce, great review, BOB puppies 6 - 9 months old and finally BIPS4. So proud of our little one :) Víkur Bob Marley "Marley" and Theodóra did excellent in junior like before. He was best junior of breed, 2nd best male of breed and earned his 3rd CC only 15 months old on his 4th show. Even though he has enough points to become Icelandic Champion he is too young. According to HRFÍ standards regarding CC the dogs need 3 CC and the 3rd one has be be earned when the dog is at least 24 months old. So Marley will firstly become an Icelandic Champion at the show in end of February 2014. |

Herding Group Club Show 2013In the beginning of May we had a show held by the Herding Croup Club here in Iceland. Few dogs from our breeding took part in that and did well under jugde Jeff Luscott.
Three boys competed in puppies 6 - 9 months old and did all well. They all got great reviews. Víkur Johnny English was in first place, Víkur Harry Potter in second and Víkur Ocean´s Eleven in third place. We had two girls in the same age and they also did excellent. Víkur American Beauty was in first place and Víkur Bridget Jones second. Víkur Johnny English was BOB puppy age 6 - 9 months old and became second best puppy of the show and Víkur American Beauty was BOS puppy age 6 - 9 months. Víkur Bob Marley did very well was best junior of breed and third best male of breed and then he became best junior of the show. He got excellent and his second CC. Víkur Catherine Zeta Jones and Víkur Jennifer Hudson were in junior group and did well and got great reviews. Víkur Catherine Zeta Jones was in first place. |

Walk on Good FridayIt is a tradition among Aussie owners in Iceland to go for a walk together on Good Friday at Litli-Háls, where two Aussie owners live.
The dogs all run free and it is so much fun to see all of them playing together. This day is always so much fun and it was nice to see how many owners came with their dogs and how great the dogs were all together. Attached you can see few pictures from that great day :) |

February show - great resultsIn the end of February there was showtime here in Iceland. Víkurkennel had few dogs there and they all did excellent.
Theodóra and Víkur Bob Marley took part in Junior handling on Friday evening and did very well became 2nd out of more than 20 competitors. Six puppies after Reese and Chase took part in the show and did all well and got great remarks from judge Nina Karlsdotter, Sweden. Víkur Harry Potter "Smári" shown by our Karen Ósk was the best male puppy and Víkur American Beauty "Izzy" shown by Theodóra was the best female. Then Smári became BOB puppy 4 - 6 months old. Our Thornapple Good To Go "Chase" did excellent work with our friend Kathleen Roosens from Belgium. He was the best Champion and then the 3rd best male of breed and got his second CACIB. Theodóra and our 12 months old Marley did also excellent. He was the best male and BOB in Aussie and got his first Icelandic Champion point. In the group finals they also did excellent and became 2nd in group between two BIS winners. |

Just like his daddyThe puppies after Reese and Chase are 6 months old and they have matured a lot for the last weeks and months.
It is nice to see how much they look more and more like their parents as they mature. Some of them are mixed but other are just like mom or just like daddy. Last week on the 5th of September Reese and Chase had their puppies. This is the first pure Thornapple litter born here in Iceland. Everything went well and 11 puppies were born, 6 males and 5 females and all colors.
The colors were 1 red merle male, 1 red tri male, 1 blue merle male, 3 black tri males, 2 red merle females, 1 red female and 2 black tri females.
We could not be happier with the little ones. You can find further info about the puppies here.

Chase Icelandic Champion
Thornapple Good To Go "Chase" took part in the August show here in Iceland and did very well under judge Harry Tast from Finland. He got an Icelandic Champion point and by that he became an Icelandic Champion, before he was a Champion in the States. He also got his first CACIB and was BOS.
Chase was handled by Theodóra Róbertsdóttir who handles all our dogs and they did excellent. We also can not forget our Sóley at Dekurdýr that groomed him so beautiful. Thanks girls :)

Time goes fast

It is true but unbelievable that the puppies are getting to be eight weeks old tomorrow but it fells like they were born yesterday or the day before that. But now it is time for them to start leaving home for their new homes.
It has to be said that it has been extremely fun to watch them grow and develop. But to a new chapter in their lives is beginning when they move into a new home and learn to know new families.

Chase is finally at home

There was great expectation at our home today because we were expecting Chase form isolation in Hrísey. He came with a plain from Akureyri in the afternoon and we went to the airport to pick him up.
It is like he has always been with us, what a great dog he is. He is so considered and good. Came straight to our arms and so calm. At home he is like he has always been with us, looked a bit around first and after that he found himself a good spot to lay on between going into his cage.

The puppies are 4 weeks old
Today we have four weeks since the puppies were born and boy the grow. Today it was time to weigh them and it has to be said that they all grow rapidly and have gained a lot of weight for these four weeks. They have gained 274 grams average per week, which is quite good.
Now we have moved them to the garage where they have more space. The space they have now is about three times bigger than the box they were in while they were inside. Reese has been good giving them to drink but we started to give them puppy milk last night and tonight they also got wet puppy food. They ate it all with the best appetite.
It is so fun and giving to watch them playing and discovering the world around them. They have a lot of toys to play with and it is also very fun to see them when they are teasing each other.

Today the puppies are 18 days old and so many things have happened for the last few days. They like us humans all have their own personality and it so fun to see them grow and prosper. Last weekend we named them all for the pedigree and behind many of the names there is a reason.
They all opened their eyes on days 13 - 15 and that opened up completely new world for them. The strength in their legs is growing rapidly and they are getting able to walk longer and longer in their box every day. In a few days we will have our new dog, Chase, with us, but he is in isolation at Hrísey. He arrived in Iceland on February 1st and will be with us on March 1st. Chase is from the Thornapple breeding like Reese and his breeding name is "Thornapple Good to go".
He is born in 2008 on January 15th and has just become 4 years old. His Father is Ch Thornapple Single Barrel and his mother is Thornapple Freeze Frame.His breeders are Lisa Penton, Amy Garrison and Ellen Brandenburg.
Chase is a beautiful dog and has been doing very well on show in USA and he is an American master.

Eight puppies were a bit more than we expected because she had been confirmed with at least five and therefore we thought they would maybe be six but not eight. But they all are gorgeous and more than welcome.
The birth date is great and easy to remember, 02.02.12. The genders were divided evenly, 4 bitches and 4 dogs. The colors were not divided as equally but the combination was 2 blue merle dogs, 2 black tri dogs, 1 blue merle bitch and 3 black tri bitches.
