In the beginning of a new year it is good to look back at our last show year. The last show of 2016 here in Iceland was in the middle of November. Looking at the past show year we have many great memories and victories coming to our mind and this year will late be topped in coming show years. We had Best of Breed at 4 of 5 shows and Best Veteran of Breed at all 5 shows. Dogs own or bred by us gained 8 new titles last year, 3 x C.I.B., 2 x ISCh, 2 x ISVetCh and 1 x RW-16.
Chase was in a great show condition the whole year and that brought him 3 Best of Breeds and 2 Best Veteran of Breed. He became Best in Show Veteran in September, was once 4th Best in Show Veteran, was once Best in Group 4 and once Best in Group 1. He got his 4th CACIB in November and his application for the International title, C.I.B., is pending. In September he also won Crufts 2017 qualification and got his 3rd veteran CC and became Icelandic Veteran Champion, ISVetCh. This wonderful performance of his made him the Top Australian Shepherd 2016 here in Iceland.
Reese also had a great show year, now as a veteran. She took part in four shows out of five and 3 times she was Best Veteran of Breed and 2 times BOS Veteran, was once 3rd Best in Show Veteran and twice 4th Best in Show Veteran. Among being BOS and BOB Veteran at the November show she got her 3rd veteran CC and became Icelandic Veteran Champion, ISVetCh. This wonderful performance of her made her Top Veteran 2016 at our Herding Club and 3rd over all breeds.
Chase and Reese are also the first Australian Shepherds to become Icelandic Veteran Champions as from June 1st last year you could start earning veteran CC and the dog needs 3 of them to become a champion.
Marley also did great at shows this year. He earned his 4th CACIB in July and his application for the International Title C.I.B., is pending. He is also the first Australian Shepherd male bred in Iceland to become International Champion.
Last spring there was an increase in number of dogs in our household when "Gadsden", USCh Thornapple Don‘t Tread On Me, came out of quarantine in the beginning of May. He took part in his first show in July where he did great. He became Best of Breed, got the CC needed to become an Icelandic Champion, ISCh, among being Reykjavík Winner 2016, RW-16.
Izzy took a show break after the February show as she had 7 beautiful puppies in the middle of May. She came back to the November show where she did great, was 2nd best female after her mother, got her 4th CACIB, and her application for the International Champion title, C.I.B., is now pending like her father‘s and half brother‘s.
Blue „Víkur I Saw Her Standing There“ our Izzy‘s daughter, took part in two show in baby class. She did good at both was 3rd best female with HP on the first and then at the second one she was BOB baby with HP and 4th Best In Show Baby.

„Smári“ Víkur Harry Potter HIT earned his 3rd CC at the November show when he was 2nd best male after his father and therefore became an Icelandic Champion, ISCh. „Polar“ Víkur I Got To Get You Into My Life became Best of Breed Baby in September with HP and became 4th Best in Show Baby. His and Blue‘s sisters „Aska“ Víkur Here Comes The Sun and „Askja“ Víkur Twist and Shout also did good at the shows with HP and beautiful critiques. Their brother „Loke“ Víkur Icelandic All My Loving flew with his new owner to Norway in the beginning of October where he will be our representative at shows in the future.
Other Vikur dogs did not take part in shows last year but they are doing great and are busy having a great time with their families.
All our dogs are on ProPac food from Pak ehf. and we use Chris Christensen products from 4 Loppur when grooming. We would like to use the opportunity to thank both companies for great service and support for the last year.
We are extremely proud of last years show results for our small and young kennel which started in 2012. We have owned and/or bred the Top Australian Shepherd here in Iceland 4 years in a row. We have bred 3 Icelandic Champions and two of them have their International Title pending. We would never have got this great results without having great breeders all over the world by our side that trust us for dogs of high quality. We would like to use the opportunity to thank all our handlers, owners, breeders abroad and all of you that took part in making this year a year to remember. Without you this would not have been possible <3
